A Jefferson County Coroner's Office in Birmingham have identified the deceased victim as 52-year-old Karen Louise Shahan. Her body was discovered around 11:15 a.m. on last Tuesday on the couch of her Hugh Circle home. Karen Louise is the wife of the Rev. Richard Shahan, who is on staff at First Baptist Church of Birmingham.
