In the 21st century, we don't hear of too many black preachers speaking on black issues, so we appreciate the Bishop Wellington Boone's honesty. He allegedly stated civil rights damaged the black family and from the church. In so many words and we agree with him. In our opinion, civil rights does not focus on God, so no wonder we are yet seeing a lot of problems among black people.
According to Black Christian News, it is possible for black Christians to be truly conservative yet not lose their "blackness"; because if you have political aspirations, you will need your "blackness" to gain the support and votes of black and brown people. The truth of the matter is, there are many white conservatives who don't believe that Obamacare is the worse thing since slavery, or that the Civil Rights movement caused the breakdown of the African-American family.
In the meantime, we pray for many more African American ministers to be more honest.
