Black Church News: Prayer Service Planned After Historic South LA Church Destroyed by Fire

The historic Crouch Memorial Church of God in Christ was almost 120-year-old when it went up in flames.  Allegedly, the pastor admits to turning on a gas heater and does not recall turning it off.   This is very sad, because it reminds us of the historic Pilgrim Bapist Church in Chicago where many gospel concerts were in the past. 

According to KTLA.com, the two-alarm fire was reported at 9:27 a.m. in the 1000 block of East 27th Street. About 150 firefighters responded.  

In the meantime, we will keep Pastor McGee and the entire congregation of Crouch Memorial COGIC in our prayers.
