The church members of Gospel Tabernacle Cathedral applauded when Bishop Wiley Jackson said police arrested the second alleged killer of his baby brother, Jerrick. They also were very happy to hear Bishop Jackson said he forgives them. We also heard Bishop Jackson's thought on the possible motive of these young men, although there is no excuse for what they did to his late brother.
According to BlackChristianNews.com, the bishop made his brother's death part of a larger lesson, geared mostly to young black males, about how to react to robberies and police profiling without getting killed or arrested. He also spoke about the death of Trayvon Martin in Sanford, Fla. -- an injustice, he said, but a consequence of being black in America and handling a situation all wrong.
In the meantime, we will keep Bishop Wiley Jackson, his family and church in our prayers.
