A few thousand retired NFL players will receive thousands of dollars from a settlement. The lawsuit had to do with suffering concussions and not being forewarned about the dangers of playing the sport. What's so sad is, those who have died of suicide like Jovan Belcher, Dave Duerson and Junior Seau, after suffering brain damage were too far gone.
According to CNN.com, the deal calls for the NFL to pay $765 million to fund medical exams, concussion-related compensation, medical research for retired NFL players and their families, and litigation expenses, according to a court document filed in U.S. District Court in Philadelphia.
These NFL and ex-players deserve the money that's coming to them, even more than several thousand.
