Jesse Jackson Jr. has been sentenced to 30 months in prison. The former congressman humbly apologized for his actions and pleaded guilty to the charges of fraud along with his wife, Sandi. However, Sandi is not sentenced yet and the couple requested that they both be sentenced at different times, so they can care for their family, which could have been a part of a plea deal, according to MyFoxChicago.com.
According to CNN.com, in a statement read in court, Jackson said he wants to be held accountable for his actions and he knows what he did was wrong. The former legislator also asked for the judge not punish his wife for what he said "was a subset of what I did."
